Willis "Bing" Davis is a product of the Dayton Public Schools and DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. He received his Master's Degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and completed additional graduate studies at Indiana State University and the School of the Dayton Art Institute. Davis has 42 years of teaching experience in the Dayton Public School System and higher education at Depauw, Miami and Central State Universities. He works in a variety of media including acrylic, oil pastels, clay and mixed-media. Davis has acquired a national and international following with works in collections across America, France, England, Japan, Canada, South America, Western and Central Africa. His interest and concern for art opportunities for others guided his work on the Ohio Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, Montgomery County Arts and Cultural District, the African American Visual Artists Guild of Dayton and the National Conference of Artists.
