Lillian Herbert is a native Daytonian and a graduate of John H. Patterson Cooperative High School.  Her art interest began at an early age through her involvement with arts and crafts in school. She pursued a career in cosmetology in high school and has been a licensed hair stylist for over thirty years.  Lillian is self taught in her artistic skills, she has always looked at styling hair as an art form,     and because of this she has collected hair from her clients for over twenty years.  It is because of her passion, as a stylist, that she has created this unique art, using hair, which is a living tribute to her clients.   Lillian calls this work “My Hairstory".    Her art represents a variety of ages, life styles, family, and friendships.    Lillian's art has been featured in many local exhibits and generating much interest from the viewing public.
